Nominee Criteria
Demonstrable achievement in community, and service to others.

Established profile in nomination category.​
​
Must be 21 years of age or older
​
Nominees located in NY, NJ, CT, or PA are ideal, however, nominees who reside outside the preferred region will still be considered if the nominee is willing to travel to NYC to attend the award ceremony. Awards must be accepted in person by the winning nominee. ​
​
Nominators are required to provide a recommendation to validate nomination(s). Any submission that does not have a recommendation will not be considered.

CATEGORIES
Power - The Power award is to celebrate leaders who serve in ministry, women empowerment or through motivational speaking. This award will celebrate a Gem or Gent who has great influence and the ability to effect change. They use their strength for good work to empower others. Their leadership and charisma can inspire others to take action and make a positive impact on the world.

Published - The Published award will honor a Gem or Gent who have dedicated their love for words and their gift of writing to create and publish literary works that uplift, empower, heal and encourage others. Someone who is passionate, enthusiastic and deeply committed to what they produce through literature. This person puts their heart and soul into their books and publications to move others. ​
​
Philanthropic - The Philanthropic award will highlight a person or organization that is dedicated to aiding, supporting and serving others through community service and outreach. The ideal nominee is someone who is generous and altruistic in their actions. They care deeply about making a positive impact on the world and work to support or organize charitable causes.
​
Purpose - This award is to celebrate the journey of an entrepreneur or small business owner. This Gem or Gent has relentlessly chased their dreams and pursued a vision in service to others. Their purposefulness business pursuits, products or service meets the needs of others and opens doors for others.
Phenomenal - Sometimes the only word that accurately describes a selfless, consistent, hardworking, and kindhearted person is "phenomenal!" This award is for the Gem or Gent who is a positive energetic force in their church, or community. Someone who is always volunteering, giving back, or helping others. A phenomenal person lives by example and uses their gifts and talents to motivate others to strive for greatness.

Phoenix - The Gem or Gent who is resilient and agile is worthy of the Phoenix award. This award is for someone who has demonstrated the ability to rise from the ashes and overcome adversity. They are resilient and able to bounce back from difficult situations. Their phoenix-like nature has been a source of hope and inspiration for others.
​
Poetic - Rhythmic expression through words is how this Gem or Gent empowers others. Their messages of hope, love and healing in a meaningful way is their gift to the world. They have a talent for writing or speaking in a lyrical and eloquent manner. Their poetic nature can evoke strong emotions and touch the hearts of others.
​
Principled - We are grateful for those who educate, coach and mentor youth. This award is for Gems and Gents who selflessly serve and lead young people with a strong set of moral principles and values. They have a sense of integrity and do what is right, even if it is not the easiest or most popular choice. Their principled nature can inspire respect and admiration from others.
